China Airlines of Taiwan has finalised a firm order with Airbus for ten A350-1000 aircraft, confirming a commitment originally announced in December 2024.
The new A350-1000s will operate on long-haul routes to North America and Europe, offering full operational commonality with China Airlines’ current A350-900 fleet. This alignment ensures a smooth integration and boosts operational efficiency.
Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines, commented: “Our investment in the A350-1000 supports our international growth strategy and underlines our dedication to enhancing the travel experience. We are confident the A350-1000, with its extended range, fuel efficiency and high comfort, will be vital in transforming our long-haul services.”
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales for Commercial Aircraft, added: “We warmly welcome China Airlines to the growing community of A350-1000 operators. Having been an early adopter of the A350-900, China Airlines has shown strong leadership in aviation innovation. By selecting the A350-1000 Long Range Leader, the world’s most advanced long-haul aircraft, the airline continues to push its fleet forward, delivering top-tier efficiency and comfort for its passengers.”
