VietJet signs MoU for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft

VietJet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for 100 A321neo aircraft, with options for 50 more, at the Paris Air Show 2025.

At the 2025 Paris Air Show, VietJet, Vietnam’s largest private airline, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of 100 A321neo single-aisle aircraft, with the potential to add another 50 in the future.

The agreement was formalised by VietJet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Airbus Executive Vice President Sales for Commercial Aircraft Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. VietJet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao commented, “These modern and efficient aircraft have been instrumental in VietJet’s growth, helping us make air travel more accessible and affordable for millions, while strengthening our role as a connector for economic development, cultural exchange and global connectivity.”

The A321neo, the largest variant in the A320neo family, offers exceptional range, performance, and environmental benefits. It is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with a target to increase to 100% SAF capability by 2030.

This new agreement marks a significant milestone in VietJet’s strategic partnership with Airbus and represents a vital step in the airline’s growth strategy as a multi-national aviation group. It also underscores the strong demand for fuel-efficient aircraft in the rapidly growing Asia-Pacific region.
