SAS orders up to 55 Embraer E195-E2 jets

Scandinavian Airlines has placed a firm order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with options for 10 more, to enhance regional connectivity.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced a significant fleet expansion with a firm order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, alongside options for an additional 10 jets. This agreement marks the largest direct jet order in SAS’s history and underscores the airline’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity across Scandinavia and Europe.

“This order is a key component of our strategy to modernise our fleet and improve efficiency on regional routes,” said Anko van der Werff, CEO of SAS. “The E195-E2’s performance and fuel efficiency align with our sustainability goals and operational needs.”

The Embraer E195-E2 is a narrowbody aircraft capable of seating up to 146 passengers. It offers enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft, making it suitable for SAS’s regional operations.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to commence in the coming years, supporting SAS’s efforts to modernise its fleet and expand its regional network.
