At the 2025 Dubai Airshow, Emirates placed an order for 65 further Boeing 777‑9 jets, raising its total 777X commitment to 270 wide‑body aircraft.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said: “Emirates is already the world’s largest Boeing 777 operator, and we are expanding our commitment to the programme today with additional orders for 65 Boeing 777‑9s.” He added that “each of our aircraft on order have been carefully factored into Emirates’ growth plan, which is aligned to Dubai’s growth plans.”
Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, commented: “We are deeply honored that Emirates has once again selected the Boeing 777X to power its future as the airline refreshes its world‑class fleet and expands its vaunted global network.”
The 777‑9 is expected to reduce fuel use and emissions by about 20 % compared with the aircraft it replaces, while offering a more spacious cabin, improved humidity and smoother ride — features Emirates emphasises as part of its long‑haul offering.
In addition to strengthening its status as the largest operator of Boeing 777 family aircraft, Emirates’ expanded 777X order signals a long‑term commitment to wide‑body growth at a time when global demand for long‑haul travel remains strong. The deal also supports Boeing’s broader 777X production pipeline at a critical juncture.
