Avolon orders 15 A330‑900neo and 75 A321neo aircraft

Avolon has committed to 90 new Airbus jets—15 A330‑900neo and 75 A321neo—as part of its long‑term fleet investment strategy.

Avolon has placed a firm order with Airbus for 90 new aircraft, consisting of 15 A330‑900neo widebodies and 75 A321neo single‑aisle jets. The agreement represents a major expansion of the lessor’s order book and reflects long-term confidence in demand for efficient, next-generation aircraft.

Andy Cronin, Chief Executive Officer of Avolon, stated that “this order demonstrates our strong confidence in the long-term demand for new aircraft. Our scale and balance sheet position us to provide our customers with certainty as they implement their fleet strategies. Both the A321neo and A330neo are core to our portfolio and are among the most in-demand and most efficient aircraft in the world today. We have committed to over 200 new technology Airbus aircraft since 2021, strengthening our portfolio to meet our customer needs.”

Airbus welcomed the deal as further evidence of its products’ market strength. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales, Commercial Aircraft, said that “this significant order from Avolon is a strong endorsement of our A321neo and A330neo aircraft. It demonstrates the continuing long-term demand for efficient and versatile widebody and single-aisle aircraft. It also shows Avolon’s forward-looking approach to anticipating the needs of its customers in a dynamic market. Avolon’s vision and ambition as a leading lessor make it a key partner for Airbus.”

This latest commitment strengthens Avolon’s position as one of the top global lessors of Airbus aircraft. The company now has more than 500 Airbus aircraft either on order or in its owned and managed fleet. The addition of the A330neo further reinforces Avolon’s ability to meet demand for widebody leasing solutions as international traffic continues to recover.

Both the A321neo and A330neo are central to Airbus’ strategy of offering airlines greater flexibility, lower fuel burn, and reduced CO₂ emissions. The A321neo remains the best-selling member of the A320neo Family, while the A330neo is increasingly being adopted as a cost-effective long-haul solution for operators looking to modernise their fleets without transitioning to larger widebodies.
